Sunstone is studded with tiny mineral platelets that catch the light and reflect it in a shower of golden and coppery sparks, as if the stone contained its own rays of sunlight. Sunstone is a feldspar of the oligoclase or orthoclase family, formed in igneous and metamorphic rocks; its reflective inclusions were deposited during the slow cooling of magma, arranged in parallel layers that amplify the luminous effect. It was discovered in significant quantities in Oregon, where it became the official state gemstone. Each JUMBO piece is a fragment of solidified light, a golden warmth the earth took millions of years to concentrate.
Emotional and spiritual virtues — It is associated with authentic joy, radiant self-confidence and reconnection to the pleasure of living. It accompanies those who have forgotten what it feels like to feel light — that deep sense of life flowing freely, without the usual contractions of fear or doubt. Its warm, expansive vibration invites letting go of the guilt of taking up space, to shine without apologising. On a spiritual level, sunstone is associated with solar force in its most benevolent dimension — the natural generosity of what shines and warms without asking anything in return.
Legend — In Norse mythology there was a legendary stone called sólarsteinn, the sunstone, said to help navigators locate the sun through cloud. Indigenous peoples of Oregon considered sunstones with coppery inclusions as gifts from the Great Spirit — fragments of celestial light fallen to Earth to remind humans of their own luminous nature.
JUMBO orders require time for crafting, ranging from 2 to 3 weeks during peak periods. The photo is not contractual — each stone is unique, and its imperfections are a testament to its natural origin.
