Garnierite is a stone of a tender, luminous green that instantly evokes nature at its most alive — moss after the rain, young leaves in spring, the forest at dawn. It is not a single mineral species but a blend of nickel and magnesium silicates, which gives it its varied hues, from a pale, almost minty green to a deep emerald, often marbled with white or grey. It is mainly mined in New Caledonia, Madagascar and Zimbabwe. Each JUMBO piece is a fragment of raw, generous nature, of an immediate visual softness.
Emotional and spiritual virtues — It is associated with growth, hope and abundance in all its forms. It is said to accompany those moving through a time of renewal — after a trial, a bereavement, a long period of stagnation — supporting the ability to begin again, to believe once more in one's own possibilities. Its gentle, invigorating vibration invites you to open to what is coming, to trust the natural movement of life which, like nature, always finds a way towards the light. On a spiritual level, it is said to foster the healing of the heart, generosity towards oneself, and reconnection with the simple joy of existing and growing.
Legend — Garnierite takes its name from the French geologist Jules Garnier, who discovered it in New Caledonia in 1867. In the traditions of the Kanak peoples of New Caledonia, the earth and its minerals are regarded as living beings in their own right, bearers of the souls of the ancestors and of the memory of the land. The green stones drawn from this sacred earth were associated with fertility, the growth of harvests and the benevolence of the spirits of nature. They symbolised the indissoluble bond between the earth, life and the beings born of it.
JUMBO orders take time to craft — from 2 to 3 weeks in the busiest periods. The photo is non-contractual: each stone is unique, and its imperfections are the testimony of a natural stone.
