Peristerite is a feldspar made of two intergrown minerals which separated during the slow cooling of the rock, forming microscopic lamellae that create optical interference. It is this microstructure, invisible to the naked eye, that produces the ghostly blue, this inner light that seems to come from nowhere. Its name comes from the Greek peristera, meaning dove — a reference to the iridescent blue-grey reflections of the bird's feathers. Each JUMBO piece is hidden light within a simple appearance, a mineral secret revealed only to those who take the time to look.
Emotional and spiritual virtues — It is associated with intuitive gentleness, inner peace and the gradual revelation of the self. It accompanies those who carry deep qualities they have not yet recognised — like its blue light, which only appears at the right angle, it reminds us that what is precious within us does not always show immediately. Its soft, soothing vibration invites slowing down, trusting time and letting things reveal themselves without force. Spiritually, peristerite is often linked to moonstone, with which it shares this quality of inner light — a stone of cycles, flow and ancient feminine wisdom.
Legend — Peristerite belongs to the broad family of moonstones — feldspars with adularescence that have fascinated ancient civilisations for millennia. In Hindu tradition, stones with blue reflections were considered solidified moonbeams. The Romans believed they changed with the phases of the moon. In Celtic traditions, stones with inner light were called vision stones, used by seers and healers. The dove after which it is named is itself a universal symbol of peace and passage between worlds.
JUMBO orders require time for crafting, ranging from 2 to 3 weeks during the busiest periods. The photo is not contractual — each stone is unique, and its imperfections are the testimony of a natural stone.
