Prehnite is a stone of rare visual softness — its translucent pale green, sometimes faintly golden or lemon-yellow, evokes the inside of a muscat grape held to the light, or the water of a spring at the heart of a forest. It is a silicate of calcium and aluminium that forms in the cavities of volcanic rock, often in botryoidal masses — those rounded, almost organic shapes that recall bubbles or clusters frozen in the stone. Its particular translucency gives it a very characteristic inner luminosity. Each JUMBO piece is a luminous, soothing presence, of a beauty at once humble and precious.
 
Emotional and spiritual virtues — It is associated with peace of the heart, the healing of deep emotional wounds and reconnection with oneself after a time of loss or exhaustion. It is said to accompany those who have given without counting and need to find themselves again, to recentre, to remember what truly matters. Its gentle, enveloping vibration invites you to release worries about the future, to trust the present moment and to cultivate a serenity that does not depend on outer circumstances. On a spiritual level, it is regarded in some traditions as a stone of prophecy and vision — an ally for clarifying what is essential and perceiving situations with more truth and lucidity.
 
Legend — Prehnite was the first stone to be named after a person — the Dutch colonel Hendrik von Prehn, who brought it from South Africa to Europe in the 18th century. In South Africa, African shamans called it the stone that heals the healer — recognising in it a particular ability to support those who care for others, to restore the energy of those who give, and to remind each of us of the importance of tending to ourselves before tending to the world.
